Observation 6843

Counted from 3:25 – 6:02 p.m. Monday, November 2. Sandhill cranes were in the wetland at 42.149520, -84.212673, about 900 feet south of Austin Road. Two sandhills were in the wetland when I arrived, 100 (actual count) arrived in 17 groups, and two cranes left the roosting area. Omitted for the count are 29 cranes in six groups that flew past without stopping. Weather: 47 degrees, westerly winds 10 – 15 mph, bright sky with high clouds that cleared at 4:45 p.m., sundown 5:28 p.m.
