Lucy Wilson counted cranes leaving a wetland roost between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m., most of which were in groups of 15 to 20 birds flying overhead (in Sherman Township, Mason County, Michigan). About 2/3 of the cranes flew to the northwest while about 1/3 flew to the southwest.
