Observation 7589

Pond at the SW corner of intersection of S Corey and W Colby Rds, Locke Township, Ingham County, MI. No cranes at all viewed on this date at this pond which has been mostly damp mud and sometimes shallow water after a heavy rain. This year it was surrounded by unharvested corn fields. Corn harvesting was busy elsewhere in the wider area. On previous visits: 10/02/23 two cranes at pond, and eight plus fourteen more in flight within the township, but they did not roost at the pond; 09/23/23 two cranes at pond only. Crane numbers at this site are dwindling.
