Floating water quality sensors on Lake Mattamuskeet

Expect to see boats on Lake Mattamuskeet this week as the research team from BlueGreen Water Technologies and the University of North Carolina Institute of Marine Sciences team hope to deploy 30 floating water quality sensors. These sensors will continuously collect a variety of data on water quality and algal blooms. The data will help the refuge evaluate the possibility of a treatment for cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) in select bays on the lake.
