What We Do
Our Services
The mission of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service is to work with others to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people. In support of the mission, the Service procures goods and services that include: land rehabilitation; information technology resources; construction projects; professional and nonprofessional services; supplies; and environmental studies.
Small Business
The Joint Administrative Operations (JAO) is responsible for the acquisition needs of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Small business specialists within the Service support the small and socio-economically disadvantaged business program goals of Department of the Interior (DOI), and also provide outreach and technical assistance for companies seeking business opportunities with the Service.

Contracting Opportunities
At the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, some procurement requirements are set-aside to meet small business socio-economic goals. Other requirements are excluded from competition in accordance with the exceptions for Full and Open Competition requirements in the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 6, and are not synopsized. Federal Government procurement requirements exceeding $25,000 are synopsized at the sam.gov website.

Construction Multiple Award Task Order Contracts (MATOC)
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is utilizing MATOCs to support work on infrastructure projects across the U.S. and its territories. MATOCs have been awarded for alteration and repair, geotechnical engineering, and architecture and engineering work, and are coming soon for design-build work. MATOCs have many benefits, including streamlining the acquisition process, limiting contract duplication, and reducing the administrative workload, which enable faster and more efficient service delivery on projects. MATOCs also provide contractors the opportunity to provide work on a steady stream of jobs over time, with fewer administrative hurdles and a reduced solicitation timeline.

Unsolicited Proposals
In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, (FAR), Part 15.602, it is the policy of the government to encourage the submission of new and innovative ideas in response to Broad Agency Announcements, Small Business Innovation Research topics, Small Business Technology Transfer Research topics, Program Research and Development Announcements, or any other government-initiated solicitation or program. When the new and innovative ideas do not fall under topic areas publicized under those programs or techniques, the ideas may be submitted as unsolicited proposals.
