Facility Activities

Warm Spring National Fish Hatchery facilities include a public aquarium and displays which highlight the work done on station and by the Fish and Wildlife Service. Over 50,000 visitors annually get up close with our species and the conservation hatchery process. Educational opportunities for groups exist during visits to learn more about hatchery operations and resource issues.

(to include electric bicycles not more than one horsepower) enable visitors to ride the Hatchery trails for exercise and to enjoy nature at its fullest.

From bald eagles to spoonbills, from condors to puffins, birds abound on national wildlife refuges. Refuges provide places for birds to nest, rest, feed and breed making them world-renown for their birding opportunities.

You may walk your dog(s) on the Hatchery; you must use a leash, pick up behind your dog and dispose of appropriately.

ONLY During special events put on by the Hatchery. The annual Kid’s Fishing Day held in conjunction with National Fishing Week activities where children have the opportunity to fish our catfish pond; each child may keep up to five fish.

Fish viewing is available at a number of FWS facilities in the form of aquariums, tanks, and streams.

We have educational coloring books for children interested in learning more about fish and nature.

Please feel free to bring your cameras and take vibrant pictures of our hatcheries natural beauty and wildlife.

Benches are available around the hatchery for public use.
