Coastal Program - Carbon Study

The Coastal Program evaluated the carbon co-benefits delivered by habitat conservation (i.e., improvement and protection) completed between 2010 and 2020. The purpose of the carbon study is to demonstrate the important role that habitat conservation projects have in removing atmospheric carbon dioxide and more broadly mitigating a significant cause of climate change. By evaluating and communicating carbon co-benefits, the conservation community can engage a broader audience, better advocate for conservation, and maximize conservation benefits.
