When bison herds on Service-managed lands exceeds the ecological carrying capacity of those lands, live bison capture and removal can assist in the restoration of bison to Tribal lands and support the bison restoration efforts of states and other conservation organizations. This form allows eligible organizations to express their interest in participating in this program to support conservation of the species and to assist in the restoration of bison herds on conservation partner lands, with special emphasis on restoring conservation herds to Tribal lands.
