Climate Modeling and Partnerships for Freshwater Mussel Conservation in Central Texas CART Case Study Handout

Candidate Conservation Agreements with Assurances (CCAAs) support voluntary conservation efforts for 3 endemic species of freshwater mussels in Central Texas. Additional research efforts in Texas included Texas A&M’s researchers partnering with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and The Nature Conservancy, to utilize high resolution, downscaled climate projections to track impacts on the Texas fatmucket (Lampsilis bracteata) and their habitats and inform future conservation actions.
