Final Environmental Assessment and FONSI for Mariana Trench Marine National Monument Management Plan

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and partners have completed a Monument Management Plan (MMP) for the Mariana Trench Marine National Monument (Monument). Representatives from the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Government (CNMI), NOAA, and the Service collaborated to develop the MMP, with advice and recommendations of the Mariana Trench Monument Advisory Council (MTMAC). A Final Environmental Assessment (EA) analyzing the impacts of three alternatives has been prepared (USFWS 2024).
