Biologists Katy Pfannenstein and Amy Horstman conduct a large wood survey in Gold Creek, Washington. Logjams are an essential part of restoration of this habitat; over 140 will be installed instream to stabilize the streambanks, narrow the stream width, improve floodplain connectivity, and increase the diversity of fish habitat. Performing pre- and post- implementation monitoring of logjams will help us evaluate the effectiveness of the restoration project.
