Laysan albatross are not sexually dimorphic meaning there are no distinguishing difference in appearance between male and female birds. Outside of running a blood test to determine sex, the only way to tell if a nesting pair has two female birds is the presence of two eggs in their nest because Laysan albatross can lay just one egg per year.
