Migratory Bird Hunting Activity and Harvest during the 2022–23 and 2023–24 Hunting Seasons

This report presents hunter activity and harvest estimates from the Harvest Information Program (HIP) surveys for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 hunting seasons.  Prior to the 2023 hunting season, we made changes to our survey methodology and our online harvest survey application due to external security mandates and our ongoing efforts to enhance data collection processes. As a result of these modifications, estimates of harvest and hunter activity may not be comparable to previous years’ estimates, and remain preliminary until additional surveys to evaluate potential bias have been conducted.
