Minor and Technical Corrections in North Carolina and Florida Archive

Archived Documents for CBRS Remapping Project

This collection contains archived materials related to the revised boundaries for the minor and technical correction remapping of Coastal Barrier Resources System (CBRS) units FL-95P in Walton County, Florida and L06 in Onslow County, North Carolina.

Overview of the Remapping Project

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service transmitted to Congress on August 10, 2021, minor and technical correction maps for one CBRS unit in Florida (Grayton Beach Unit FL-95P) and one CBRS unit in North Carolina (Topsail Unit L06).  The minor and technical correction maps for these two units addressed errors on maps that were previously modernized and adopted by Congress in 2006 and 2018 respectively. These two corrections removed from the CBRS small areas (less than four acres total) in order to correct technical mapping errors resulting from the limitations of Geographic Information Systems data (including parcels and aerial imagery) available in the early 2000s when the mapping work was done for these units. The Service prepared these revised maps dated April 30, 2021, to reflect these minor and technical corrections, and has determined that no other changes are needed to these maps.

These minor and technical correction maps were adopted by Congress through Public Law 118-117 on November 25, 2024. The official maps are available on our CBRS maps and data webpage.
