This paper presents estimates of the number of trout anglers and days of fishing for trout for the nation as a whole and for each of the 50 states. Sociodemographic characteristics of those who fish for trout are compared with the U.S. population. Trout anglers are also compared to freshwater anglers in general in order to determine if there are systematic differences between the two groups.
