This table shows when chimney swifts generally arrive in the U.S. in the spring and when they leave for their fall migration. In the Southeast U.S, chimney swifts usually arrive in the end of March and migrate south in mid-October. In the Southwest U.S, chimney swifts arrive in the end of March and leave in mid-October. In the Mid-Atlantic region, chimney swifts arrive in mid-April and leave in mid-October. In the Northeast, chimney swifts arrive in the end of April and leave in early October. In the Midwest region, chimney swifts arrive in the end of April and leave in early October. In the Intermountain West, chimney swifts arrive in early May and leave in mid-September.
