The Shoshone people are known for their basketry. The basket shown here was woven by Spike Jackson's grandmother, May Davis, who taught him how to harvest pine nuts. A butterfly basket in this style was woven in the late 1890s by Spike Jackson's, great-great aunt, Mamie Gregory.
