Wind Turbine Guidelines Advisory Committee Final Recommendations

This document includes the Wind Turbine Guidelines Advisory Committee (Committee) recommendations. In 2007, the Committee was established under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, to provide advice and recommendations on developing effective measures to avoid or minimize impacts to wildlife and their habitats related to land-based wind energy facilities. The Committee is comprised of 22 members representing the federal, state, and tribal governments, wildlife conservation organizations, and the wind industry.

This document is divided into two sections: (1) policy recommendations, and (2) recommended voluntary guidelines for wind siting and operations to avoid or minimize potential impacts to wildlife and habitat from wind energy development.
