Sonia L. Mumford DVM

Sonia earned her doctorate of veterinary medicine from N.C. State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She trained at the at the New England Aquarium as a veterinary intern and stayed on as the Collection Veterinarian for 3 years.  She joined the Service in 2001 as a Veterinary Medical Officer at the Olympia Fish Health Center in Washington state.  She joined Edenton National Fish Hatchery's staff in 2018 as the Hatchery Manager.  In doing so, she became the first female manager in the hatchery's more than 100 year history.
