Consideration of SFBPC comments of Refuge Vision Recommendation 17: Hunting, angling, and outdoor recreation
- Doug Hobbs walked Council members through comments received on Refuge Vision recommendation #17.
- Hobbs noted major comments.
- Jim Zorn mentioned that a major flaw is that Native American tribes are not referenced.
- Zorn suggested that: 1) the Council should make a recommendation referring the Refuge system to the recently completed Fish Vision; and 2) recommend that the system has to engage tribes directly.

Consideration of SFBPC priority issues letter to Secretary Sally Jewell
Scott Kovarovics, Chair, Outreach and Communications Committee
- Kovarovics reviewed the draft issue priority list, highlighting some of the key recommendations.
- Jim Zorn suggested that reference to the relationship between Native American tribes and the DOI be added.
- Zorn also suggested that the recommendations speak to tribal subsistence use of fish and wildlife resources, not just to outdoor recreation.
- Doug Hobbs will craft language to address tribal issues and circulate.
Upcoming SFBPC assessment of the activities of RBFF
- Scott Kovarovics provided an update on the status of this effort.
- Kovarovics noted that there has been a meeting with staff from D.J. Case on the project.
- A conference call with the Outreach and Communications Committee is being scheduled.
- Kovarovics discussed the draft timeline for the project.
