U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Conservation Genetic Labs
Seven laboratories provide conservation genetics research and support to the Service and its partners. The labs provide sampling guidance, genetic data generation, and interpretation of genetic data for management, conservation and policy issues. Using a suite of molecular techniques, the labs address a variety of issues, such as management of hatchery broodstocks, characterization of population , and identification of management and conservation units. For more information concerning conservation genetics of imperiled aquatic species please contact one of the regional geneticists.
