Across Southern California, habitat loss and fragmentation along with increased frequency of wildfires has reduced populations of some of our native butterflies. The Carlsbad Office partners with individuals and many organizations to conserve these threatened and endangered pollinators through habitat restoration, captive rearing, and species reintroductions.
