What We Do
The vision of the Texas Coastal Ecological Services Field Office is to ensure healthy, abundant, and sustainable populations of fish, wildlife, and plants that thrive within coastal and South Texas. We strive to conserve and protect species and their habitats through science-based decision-making and with the continued collaboration of our various partners for future generations.
Management and Conservation
The Texas Coastal Ecological Services Field Office spans multiple ecoregions containing very diverse ecosystems including the glades and Pineywoods of East Texas; Columbia bottomland forest, wetlands, marshes, wind tidal flats, and hypersaline lagoons along the coast; shortgrass coastal prairie communities; sandy and loose soils of central Texas; and unique Rio Grande Valley and Tamaulipan thornscrub habitats. The Texas Coastal Ecological Services Field Office uses strategic planning and partnerships to continue to make science-based decisions to benefit our federal trust resources and their diverse habitats.
