U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Seeks Public Comments on a Draft Environmental Assessment regarding Wyoming Game and Fish Departments Proposal to Relinquish a Parcel of Property

DENVER- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is seeking public comment on a draft environmental assessment (Draft EA) regarding Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s (WGF) proposal to relinquish a parcel of property originally acquired with Wildlife Restoration Program grant funds at the Ocean Lake Wildlife Habitat Management Area in Fremont County, Wyoming in exchange for a Conservation Easement on privately-owned land on the eastern slope Table Mountain near Lander in Fremont County.  WGF has applied to the Service for approval from the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program, administered by the Service, to undertake this transaction, and a decision by Service’s decision constitutes a Federal action subject to the provisions of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended (NEPA).  The Draft EA has been prepared to comply with NEPA provisions to assess potential impacts on the human environment and documents an analysis of the effects of the Proposed Action and the “No Action” alternatives.  Public comments will be accepted for a 30-day period ending March 13, 2018.

Those without internet access may request copies by calling Jacqueline Trout of the Services’ Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program at 303-236-8157.  Comments will be accepted until March 13, 2018 and should be sent to: Chief, Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, P.O. Box 25486, Denver, CO, 80225.”
