About Us
We are an Alaska office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service focused on northern sea otters, Pacific walrus, and polar bear. Our staff have expertise in marine mammals, ecology, biology, management, and policy. We strive to promote international coordination between the United States, Russian Federation, Norway, Greenland, and Canada; the co-management of subsistence hunting and other activities with Alaska Native peoples; and habitat conservation and protection for Pacific walrus, polar bears, and northern sea otters.
