This project is a collaboration between the Bureau of Land Mangement – Applegate Field Office and the Nevada Department of Wildlife. The objective of this project is to protect Sage Hen Spring (e.g., its associated meadows and associated archaeological resources) from grazing impacts by wild horses and to rehabilitate the area to proper functioning condition. This spring is found in core sagebrush sagebrush
The western United States’ sagebrush country encompasses over 175 million acres of public and private lands. The sagebrush landscape provides many benefits to our rural economies and communities, and it serves as crucial habitat for a diversity of wildlife, including the iconic greater sage-grouse and over 350 other species.
