Scuba diving at Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge

Refuge volunteer on manatee watch outside of Three Sisters Springs and snorkeler floating at surface of water with manatees resting around

Scuba diving is allowed at Three Sisters Spring, but only from April 1 to November 14. Snorkeling is a year-round activity at the springs. Visitors can rent or use their own equipment, but guided tours are the most popular way to experience the springs. Snorkelers are not permitted to enter the designated manatee sanctuaries or go on the shore. It is also recommended, for the enjoyment of every one, that snorkelers refrain from walking on the bottom as this stirs up sediment. Remember to watch the Manatee Manners video before your visit.
