Volunteering

The refuge does not have a formal volunteer program. The Coastal Wildlife Refuge Society, a nonprofit local organization, was established to provide support for continued maintenance of all refuges in the Coastal North Carolina NWRs Complex and their educational programs, and to recruit volunteers for continuation of this process. There are many ways to get involved with national wildlife refuges in eastern North Carolina--visit the Alligator River NWR website for more information.

Education Programs

Educational and interpretive tours and trips are available by request only. There are no planned tours, trips or programs at Currituck National Wildlife Refuge. Alligator River and Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge have regular education and interpretive programs that occur seasonally.
