Refuge visitors are allowed to walk their pet on some portions of the refuge if attached to a leash and the pet walker is in control of the leash and pet at all times.
NO pets are permitted on Holgate Beach any time of year.
Pet walking is allowed on the following designated trails on the refuge that are open to the public:
- Wildlife Drive
- Bristow Trail
- Jen's Trail
- Grassland Trail
- deCamp Wildlife Trail
- Cedar Bonnet Island Trail
- Eno's Pond Trail
Pet walking is not permitted on the following trails:
- Akers Woodland Trail
- Leeds Eco-trail
- Barnegat Overlook
- Graveling Point Trail
