Lake Zahl National Wildlife Refuge is managed by the Crosby Wetland Management District. Headquarters for the district is located two miles south of Crosby, North Dakota, on the east side of Highway 42. We have a small office with a small learning display, and we enjoy visiting with people that stop by.
Lake Zahl National Wildlife Refuge is located in Williams County approximately 30 miles north of Williston, North Dakota. A kiosk with local hunting regulations is located along the north side of Highway 50, which divides the north and south halves of the refuge.
Activities
Recreational opportunities at Lake Zahl National Wildlife Refuge include hunting for deer and upland game birds (specific regulations apply), photography, and wildlife viewing.

Locations
The Refuge is located in Williams County approximately 30 miles north of Williston. From Williston, drive 30 miles north on Highway 85, then turn west onto Highway 50. Highway 50 divides the Refuge and the kiosk is located on the north side of Highway 50, approximately 2.5 miles west of the intersection.
