Bald Eagle

The bald eagle was originally listed as endangered in March 1967. It tends to nest in bottomland hardwood forests, and can sometimes be found nesting at Little Sandy National Wildlife Refuge. 

Wood Stork

This species is considered threatened, and tends to use swamps and other wetlands as its habitat during the summer. These storks have been reported at the refuge during the summer in previous years.
