Fishing is allowed on McKay Creek Reservoir from March 1-September 30. Available species include rainbow trout, crappie, black bass, sunfish and yellow perch.
Fishing on the McKay Creek Reservoir can be quite good. While McKay Creek Reservoir supports rainbow trout, McKay’s shallow water marshes and wetlands are productive for warmwater fish, such as crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, sunfish, yellow perch and brown bullhead.
The reservoir consists of 1,300 acres of water at full pool and decreases to an average of 250 acres of water by late September. Fishing is allowed as per Oregon State regulations, March 1 through September 30.
Refuge facilities include a seasonal boat launch.
