Hunt Information

Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge offers waterfowl hunting for youth ages 17 and younger at our Riverboat unit (a separate unit that is otherwise closed to the public) and provides safe and quality education opportunities and introduces young people to hunting heritage. The youth waterfowl hunting program is operated in a manner consistent and compatible with the purposes and goals of the refuge. Hunting is permitted in accordance with all applicable State, Federal, and special refuge regulations. The application window for the 2023-2024 hunt season is now closed. All notifications for both selected and non-selected hunters have been sent via email.

The application window for the 2023-2024 Youth Hunt is now closed. If you have any questions, please contact staff at 503-625-5944, or by email at tualatinriver@fws.gov. The lottery drawing has occurred and all applicants have been notified whether they were selected, or not, for this year's hunt. 

2023-2024 Dates: November 11, 19 and 25, 2023; December 3, 9, 17, 23, 31, 2023; January 6, 2024

Time: Self check in 90 minutes prior to legal hunt time. Self check out no later than 1:00 PM.

Location: Riverboat Unit of Tualatin River NWR

Cost: This is a FREE activity
