Summer 2024 Programs
Refuge River Hike
For available dates & times, please visit the National Elk Refuge & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center. Join a Naturalist for a moderate 1.5 mile hike on the Refuge to the Gros Ventre River. The hike takes place on an area of the Refuge otherwise closed to the public. Space is limited. Reservations are required and can be made in-person at the Visitor Center.
Discovery Drives
For available dates & times, please visit the National Elk Refuge & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center. Join a Naturalist for a 2.5-hour driving tour of the Refuge. You will explore areas otherwise closed to the public. Topics vary but may include: history, wildlife, or birding. Space is limited. Reservations are required and can be made in-person at the Visitor Center.
Junior Naturalist Program
Grab a free booklet from the visitor center and earn a badge! Located at the National Elk Refuge & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center, 532 North Cache Street.
School Field Trips
