American Rescue Plan Act Zoonotic Disease Grant Program, January 2022



FY 2022 will bring Tribes, States, and Territories a new way to prevent the next pandemic. $27,000,000 will be available to Tribal, State, and Territorial wildlife managers to establish capacity, plan for crisis, and build an inter-jurisdictional network of wildlife health professionals to combat diseases that can move from wildlife to infect humans.

American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, H.R. 1319 (Sect 6003.3) "...for research and extension activities to strengthen early detection, rapid response, and science-based management to address wildlife disease outbreaks before they become pandemics and strengthen capacity for wildlife health monitoring to enhance early detection of diseases that have capacity to jump the species barrier and pose a risk in the United States."
