Psychotria grandiflora is a small tree or shrub in the coffee family (Rubiaceae), which can reach up to 5 m (16 ft) tall. Leaves are usually tinged red, leathery, obovate, and have revolute (curled under) margins. Flowers are functionally unisexual.
