About Alex Lamle
Alex is a User Support Specialist for the Southeast Conservation Blueprint, the main product of the Southeast Conservation Adaptation Strategy (SECAS). She also serves on the JEDIA-RE Racial Equity Sub-team and is a member of the Georgia Aquatic Connectivity Team.
Alex has been with the Service since January 2021 and came to us from The Nature Conservancy in Georgia, where she worked primarily on aquatic restoration and urban conservation. A red card-carrying FTII, Alex also has experience in fire restoration and other forest management activities. Prior to working at TNC, Alex taught Environmental Science at Kennesaw State University and Biology at Chattahoochee Technical College and still has a passion for environmental education.
Growing up in southwest Oklahoma, just outside the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge, Alex attended Cameron University for her B.S. in Biology where she investigated the migration and nesting patterns of Oklahoma’s state bird, the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. She earned her M.S. in Integrative Biology from Kennesaw State University studying food web interactions in the productive seagrass beds of Saint Joseph Bay, Florida.
Alex currently lives in Decatur, GA with her husband, Keaton, and dog, Murphy. Her time outside of work is typically spent traveling, camping, and in the warmer months, kayaking and river snorkeling.
