About Ann Gannam
Ann is the program lead for the Nutrition & Physiology Program. She coordinates the fish feed quality control program for the Pacific and Pacific Southwest Regions. As the Contracting Officer's technical representative for the regional fish feed contracts, she insures compliance with the specifications for feeds made for the two regions by quarterly feed testing and monitoring. She advises state, tribal and federal hatcheries as well as FWS Technology Centers about contracting and feed issues. Working with partners, including NOAA, USGS, universities and her fish nutrition colleagues at Abernathy FTC, she is involved in designing and conducting studies to address the need for new diets and rearing regimes for species held in refugia, alternative ingredients in Pacific salmonid diets and fish health issues. She is also involved in feed formulation and manufacture of experimental diets for partners and colleagues.
