Writer-editor in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service/National Wildlife Refuge System headquarters Branch of Communications and Digital Services since 2010. He focuses primarily on producing web pages, online feature stories and social media posts related to national wildlife refuges and the fish, wildlife and habitat they are entrusted to conserve. Before coming to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, he was a newspaper journalist for more than 30 years -- at the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times and elsewhere.
