About Blake Massey, Ph.D.
Blake started his career as a field biologist working on projects throughout the United States, including California condor restoration in northern Arizona, gyrfalcon ecology research in Alaska, and Island Fox recovery efforts on the Channel Island in southern California. Blake moved to the Northeast to study the movement ecology of bald eagles in Maine, and while he finished PhD work at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he joined the Service's Science Applications program in the Northeast Region in 2020. His work with the Service has focused on addressing research and data analysis needs to inform at-risk species management, habitat restoration projects, and landscape conservation partnerships.
