About Declan Ramirez
Hello! My name is Declan Ramirez, and I am a MobilizeGreen Hydrology Fellow working for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service at the Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge. I am an early-career geoscientist looking for ways to support improved environmental health through natural resource protection and monitoring. I have a MS in Geology from the University of Minnesota (with a research focus in Geophysics) and a BA in Geology from Carleton College, as well as a Geologist-In-Training (GIT) certification. However, I have limited experience in Hydrology beyond a groundwater focused class I took in undergrad and an independent stream survey I completed for my BA thesis. So, as a Hydrology Fellow I’m hoping to gain more field experience in Hydrology and get a feel for some of the work a Hydrologist does, with the end goal of becoming a Hydrologist with the USWFW (or a related entity). In my free time, I enjoy drawing, writing short stories, exploring nature, reading, and drinking various kinds of coffee.
