About Ivan Vicente
My journey with the Service began in Puerto Rico as a volunteer at the age of 13 at Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge, followed by my first paid job assisting with the Puerto Rican parrot recovery project in 1991 when I was 17. I joined the Service in a permanent position in 2002 after returning from Peace Corps service in Slovakia. I have 16 years of experience working for the National Wildlife Refuge System in multiple roles at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR and the Crystal River NWR Complex. I've spent my last five years working for External Affairs with experience of three years in Headquarters and two years where I currently serve as a Public Affairs Specialist for the Pacific Islands.
