About J. Mincy Moffett, Jr., Ph.D.
Mincy holds a Ph.D. in Botany from Auburn University, Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of the South (Sewanee). He began his career path as a mortgage banker, became Administrative Director for Greenpeace U.S.A., and then served 16 years as a rare species botanist for the Georgia Natural Heritage Program and Georgia Department of Natural Resources's Wildlife Conservation Section. Mincy joined the Service as a recovery and listing biologist in 2020.
