About Patrick Donnelly
Coming to the US Fish and Wildlife Service from the ‘Land of Enchantment’ - New Mexico, Patrick Donnelly is the science research lead for the Intermountain West Joint Venture. Patrick is located at the University of Montana as a collaborator in the Wildlife Biology Program. His 29-year career as a government scientist spans a diversity of agencies and programs, including the National Wildlife Refuge System, Bureau of Reclamation, and U.S. Forest Service. His research focuses on landscape and systems ecology, addressing land management and wildlife conservation solutions to increasing water scarcity and migratory birds in western North America. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from the University of New Mexico and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Wildlife Biology at the University of Montana. Personal interests include spending time with his wife, Mary, and hairy four-legged children, cooking, trail running, cc-skiing, training bird dogs, and hunting-fishing around the West.
