About Samuel Van Liew

Sam began joined the Quinault National Fish Hatchery team as the Assistant Project Leader in April of 2022.  Sam brings experience gained at several hatcheries in Oregon and Idaho, raising various species of anadromous fish including certain listed and tribal-comanaged stocks . Before coming to Quinault National Fish Hatchery Sam was involved in the Rainbow Trout National Broodstock program working at Ennis National Fish Hatchery in Montana and White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery in West Virginia. When not raising fish, Sam still enjoys spending time in nature and with a gentle 14 year-old-Collie named Lady.
