About Sarah Markegard
Sarah Markegard (she/her) is an Ecological Services Program Biologist with a focus on southeast AK. She is the staff lead for Alexander Archipelago wolf and provides conservation planning assistance on projects that impact USFWS trust resources. Sarah also works with partners to develop and implement proactive conservation projects across southern Alaska. Sarah holds a B.S. degree in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and a M.S. degree in Resource Conservation from the University of Montana, Missoula. Prior to joining the Southern Alaska Field Office, Sarah worked for the USFWS in Sacramento, California, where she led recovery efforts for threatened and endangered amphibians in the Sierra Nevada mountains. She has also worked as an Environmental Educator in northern Minnesota and a Wildlife Technician in Rocky Mountain National Park.
