About Yvonne Allen
Yvonne is a spatial ecologist with over 30 years experience in aquatic biology, GIS and management. She earned both her B.S. (Zoology and German - 1987) and M.S. (Water Resources Management - 1990) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining the Service in 2013, she worked for the University of Wisconsin, the Canadian Wildlife Service, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, Louisiana State University, US Geological Survey, and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Her work for the Service has focused on developing, applying and refining tabular, statistical, remote sensing and other geospatial solutions at the local and landscape scale.
She is an expert resource within the southeast FWS region for remote sensing sources and analysis. She participates actively in the national FWS Remote Sensing Working Group, which evaluates and advises on new and emerging remote sensing technologies as well as ensuring the stability and accessibility of valuable historical imagery. She has yet to meet a remote sensing platform that she did not like.
