Environmental Education Workshops at Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery

Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery recently hosted two engaging and informative workshops. Both formal and non-formal educators traveled to Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery to learn about timely topics in environmental education.

On Thursday, Lee Moser with the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service-Forestry and Natural Resources Extension led a workshop about Climate and Environmental Justice. This workshop focused on identifying and prioritizing the safeguarding of communities disproportionately impacted by environmental, health, and climate change climate change
Climate change includes both global warming driven by human-induced emissions of greenhouse gases and the resulting large-scale shifts in weather patterns. Though there have been previous periods of climatic change, since the mid-20th century humans have had an unprecedented impact on Earth's climate system and caused change on a global scale.

Wolf Creek NFH's facilities are a wonderful setting for environmental education professional development workshops. Throughout the years, trainings in the nationally recognized Project Learning Tree, WET, and WILD have been offered at Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery. We hope to continue partnerships with various agencies that will inspire and inform educators in the field of environmental education.
