2025 Fish stocking season starts at Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery
2025 fish stocking season initiates with the start of the new year at Dale Hollow National Fish Hatchery. High volume, stocking trucks are loaded and moving fish daily as winter stocking ends and the new year stocking begins.
Cool-water fish are stocked year-round from the fish hatchery, but fish really start moving off-station with the spring rains, temperatures, river conditions, lake conditions, and recreational opportunities.
Most hatchery fish stocking is tailwaters downstream of reservoirs throughout middle Tennessee, but a fair amount are also stocked into the lakes that feed those tailwaters.
In the next couple months, the hatchery will send out over 200,000 adult catchable trout.
