The winter solstice marks the longest night of the year, after which, we celebrate longer days to come! For wildlife, these darker days are a slower time to conserve energy and rest. Join us to take inspiration from wild creatures and relax while you decorate a winter solstice lantern! **Bring a clean, empty glass jar from home***or choose from a limited supply available. We love an "up-cycled" craft!
We’ll use scissors, school glue, paintbrushes and tissue paper to decorate our lanterns and each guest will receive a candle to take home to light in their lantern.
This FREE drop-in program will take place between 10 a.m. – noon, or until supplies are gone. Table-top instructions will be provided - it’s simple enough for anyone to participate and enjoy!
We estimate most participants will want 20-45 minutes to complete this activity.
This program is part of our 100th Anniversary Interpretive Series!
